Mexico City – Logistics operations by Schenker focused on the automotive sector will grow 10% in 2012, putting this segment among the most dynamic, Carlos Guerrero, Corporate Sales Manager, affirmed.
This increase is mainly supported by growth in the industry, which, in spite of upheavals in the economy, will keep such trend until the close of the year.
According to data from the Mexican Automotive Industry Association, Asociacion Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz (AMIA), only in the first half of 2012 exports went up 15.1% and production was increased by 12.8% over even term the year before.
Mr. Guerrero pointed out that Schenker has an area specialized in the sector only at countries with automotive vocation, such as Germany, Brazil and Mexico.
The company has 10 customers in Mexico (the main assemblers and some of their first tier suppliers) and they have approached Honda, Mazda and Audi, he further informed.
