Saltillo, Coahuila.- Investments that have been already announced and to be announced in coming months add to US$2 billion, according to Javier Guerrero Garcia, Coahuila’s Minister of Economic Development. Also, Coahuila Administration keeps on planning the trip they will make to Detroit, Michigan, to visit the corporations that have plants in Coahuila and keep on growing.
Mr. Guerrero said that they continue working on more investment prospects and expansion projects by companies at the state, and therefore they are confident employment goals will be achieved. As far as the several regions of the State is concerned, he said that those posting the largest growth are Southeast and Center, but there are good investment prospects for the border zone and others are expected to materialize in Comarca Lagunera.
Regarding the trip to Detroit, he said that they will decide the dates soon, which may be late this month or early in June. They have scheduled some visits and courtesy contacts with companies already established in Coahuila, which keep on growing and investing at the State; as an example he mentioned important expansion projects by both General Motors and Chrysler.
