Mexico City.- The formal incorporation of Mexico-El Salvador Business Chamber, Camara Empresarial Mexico-El Salvador (Camexsal), made up by world-class companies from both countries, will reinforce the great trade and investments potential there is between both countries, Roberto Gonzalez Alcala, CEO, Gruma Mexico and Latin America, declared at the event where the Board of Directors were sworn for 2012-2014 term.
Before El Salvador Chancelor, Hugo Martinez Bonillas, ambassadors from several Central American countries in Mexico and officers from companies members of the Chamber, Gonzalez Alcala said that Camexsal will have a positive effect on the trade relations between both countries, which currently amount to almost US$900 million.
Finally, and after pointing-out that Gruma has been operating in El Salvador for over 15 years now, and currently sends 29,000 tons of cornmeal, equal to US$20 million per year, Mr. Gonzalez Alcala pointed-out that one of Camexsal’s challenges will be to continue fostering competitiveness to attract investments to both countries and take advantage of the great trade potential offered by El Salvador.
