Mexico City.- Hitachi Automotive Systems will invest US$100 million in Queretaro within their 2012-2015 investment plan; with this amount, Foreign Direct Investment from Japan has doubled.“Our plans for Queretaro are to start manufacturing suspension equipment in 2014 and, eventually, other products”, Masaaki Fujisawa, President and CEO, Hitachi Automotive Systems, said.
The new plant in Mexico, where systems for automobile equipment will be manufactured, will be established in Queretaro Industrial Park and will employ 500 people in the first stage, to later reach around 750 workers.
The investment to be made by the company is their response to the increase in the number of vehicles assembled in Mexico, and to take advantage of the positive business environment created to strengthen supply capacity for automobiles assemblers in the Americas.
