Mexico City.- Carlos Slim Domit, Grupo Carso’s Chairman of the Board, informed that this year the several companies in the conglomerate will make investments for MXP$142.5 billion (almost US$10.5 billion) in Latin America, of which MXP$110 billion will be allocated to the telecommunications sector, via the holding company America Movil. In Mexico, the company will invest MXP$32.5 billion in the development of 30,040 kilometers of optic fiber, 5,000 free WiFi sites, 4,300 Telmex digital libraries and classrooms, as well as a new Datacenter which, together with current datacenters, will add to 2,500 terabits capacity.
“We are expecting to generate 100,000 jobs in 2012, between direct and indirect, in Mexico”, Slim Domit said when participating in the Americas Regional Development Forum.
