Mexico.- Aveo reported a 29.8% year-to-year increase in share of the market, after selling 3,958 units. For the first time in several years, a model made by General Motors was first in the list of vehicles most widely sold in Mexico last January, outdoing another model of the Japanese assembler Nissan, according to the Mexican Dealerships Association, Asociacion Mexicana de Distribuidores de Automotores (AMDA).
In their report corresponding to January 2012, AMDA says that GM’s Aveo posted a 29.8% increase in their share of the market when compared to even month in 2011, selling 3,958 units, to reach 5.3% share of the market.
Nissan sold 3,155 Tsuru units, for a 4.2% share of the Mexican market, which meant a 41.2% drop when compared to even month the previous year.
