Mexico City.- In the second half of the year General Motors de Mexico will announce new investments in their plants at San Luis Potosi, Ramos Arizpe and Silao, Ernesto M. Hernandez, President and CEO, informed.
Mr. Hernandez would not disclose the amounts allocated to each factory, but he did say they are part of the US$900 million announced by the company to be invested in Mexico within the next few years.
“We have already spoken about our plans for San Luis Potosi and Silao and it means a significant portion of the budgeted amount. There is a lot of investment coming to Mexico”, Hernandez said at a meeting with the media.
For Ramos Arizpe, plans are to assemble Sonic, a model currently imported from Korea, which soon became sixth in sales in Mexico, with 11,725 units in the first five months of the year.
