Coahuila, Mexico.- Even if the return of this type of investment is for a very long term and no proper incentives are granted by the Federal Government, Coahuila should promote the construction of Aeolian parks that generate electric power to take advantage of the natural characteristics prevailing in several regions at the State. This was what Arturo Vaca Duran, Energy and Technology Director for Industrias Peñoles, said before members of Southeast Coahuila Processing Industry Chamber, Canacintra, when, as special guest in their August meeting, discussed a case of success: Aleazin, S.A. de C.V. a Ramos Arizpe-based subsidiary of Peñoles, the important mining-metallurgy corporation.
“Something turbines manufacturers have already seen is that there are many sites with medium-scale winds, not as strong as in Oaxaca, but with very high capacity factors like those obtained there. Therefore, establishing an Aeolian park here could mean good business”, he said and further mentioned that generators with much bigger engines are being manufactured, making them a lot more productive.
