Mexico City – Last April vehicles production in Mexico grew 30% over even month a year before, by manufacturing 206,389 units, the Mexican Automotive Industry Association (AMIA) informed.
From January to April 920,032 vehicles were produced, a 15.2% year-to-year increase and also the highest production level for a 4-month period.
Eduardo Solis, Chairman, AMIA, explained that vehicles exports pushed production up.
AMIA also cleared out that the impact of quotas set by Brazil, the main market in Latin America for Mexican automobiles, is not reflected on April figures yet.
In the first 4 months of the year 66,007 vehicles were exported to Brazil, followed by Argentina with 19,834 units.
