Mexico City.- Nissan announced a US$2 billion investment in the construction of a new plant in Aguascalientes, where they will produce models derived from platform B.
3,000 new direct jobs and around 9,000 indirect jobs in the chain of suppliers will be created by the new plant; this will take Nissan’s labor force in Mexico to 13,500 employees.
The new plant, Nissan’s third in Mexico, will start operations by the end of 2013 and will have capacity for 175,000 units per year.
