Saltillo, Coahuila.- General Motors’ Ramos Arizpe Plant has set the goal to produce from 14 to 16 new Sonic units per hour by the end of this month, because in addition to being sold in Mexico it will be exported to South America, mainly Brazil and Colombia. Hector de Hoyos, Director of General Motors’ Ramos Arizpe Complex, said: “The purpose is assembling 14 or 16 units per hour by the end of this month. Our current average is four units per hour, but we have a plan to accelerate production day after day”.
According to Mr. De Hoyos, training of 300 persons recruited by GM for this project has just been completed.
Sonic automobiles will be sold in Mexico and in South America; a few in Argentina and most of them will be exported to Colombia and Brazil.
