Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.- It has been finally announced! Serial production of new Sonic will start in the last week of July at General Motors Ramos Arizpe Complex, assembling 12 units per hour in two shifts per day, for a total of 192 automobiles assembled daily, which will be immediately shipped for sale by GM dealerships. This was informed by Tereso Medina Ramirez, General Secretary of the Automotive Industry Workers Union, Sindicato Nacional CTM de Trabajadores de la Industria Automotriz, who assured that, to begin with, Sonic production line has already generated 250 jobs, personnel that has been trained and joined production lines.
“With this increase in the number of jobs there are already more than 4,000 workers between Assembly and Engines plants and, depending on the market’s response to new Sonic, we may expand even more our labor force; we therefore have great expectations on excellent sales, as Chevy did in its time”, the Union leader said.
