  • Space and Defense: satellites, parts for airships, information equipment
  • Automotive: airbags, belts, parts for steering wheels and motors, suspensions
  • Information systems: chips, electric control equipment

At the moment, the company has plants in countries as France, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, China, United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Switzerland and Argentina.

The origin of the actual company TRW goes back to 1901 as a manufacturer of screws and bolts. From 1904 till 1926, TRW produced valves for military airplanes, autos and tractors. In 1940, they started to manufacture defense products for airplanes. The company TRW was founded as it is, in 1953 by Charles Thompson, associating himself with Simon Ramo and Dean Wooldridge, initiating with projects in the air force.

In 1960, the first designs for airbags are made and in 1977 the fabrication of the first airbag system in automobiles is carried out. The business of safety belts is acquired in the year 1984.
