Guadalajara, Mexico,- Even if economic crisis forced companies to go after new markets and expansion to avoid damaging effects on their sales, Ekar de Gas, the home appliances retailers chain, prefers to consolidate and focus efforts on the 16 branches they are already operating here.

Miguel Mendez Bernal, CEO, explained that this year they will invest around MXP$20 million to refurbish existing shops and open a new one, though he would not provide any details on where it will be located.

Ekar de Gas has entered into several alliances and strategic agreements with their suppliers. For example, together with Samsung they launched last week Shop in Shop concept in their San Juan Bosco branch in Guadalajara.
